Storm Clouds

Yesterday was an exciting weather day! We had some pretty severe storms move through our area, but we just got rain in Bangs. I just happened to be out in the field doing my appraisals yesterday morning when the storms started to blow up. At one point, the storm cell closest to me caused the weather folks to issue a tornado warning. I didn't get too close and I did eventually turn back toward the office to seek shelter. I DID get some awesome clouds formation pictures though---before I left the area. Apparently, when a cold front from the north, a warm/moist trough of air from the south and a dry line all collide, you get cloud formations like this:
Isn't that awesome looking!? The dark spot there in the middle is where the potential tornado was located. God always gives an awesome cloud show during storms. I love watched storm clouds in Texas--they are like no other. I was in a safe place taking these pics---the storm was moving away from me. I couldn't resist getting some pictures!! Here are some more that I saw as well. Enjoy!

The huge let down.....

Unfortunately, Jordan did not make cheerleader. She was crushed! I was too......for her. It is just so hard to see your child hurt and upset. She got through it, though. She did say that she wants her scorecard so that she can see what she needs to improve on for next year. What a good sport! My baby! I'm so proud that she has a good attitude about things. A gift from God definitely. Anyway, Hunter didn't do well at his archery tournament, either. It was not a good Pitman weekend. But Spring Break was right after all the let downs, so the kids got a chance to rest, relax, and recuperate. Please God, bring on life with less drama! lol

Cheerleader Tryouts Tomorrow!

Jordan is trying out for junior high cheerleader tomorrow, Friday. She has been at cheer clinics all week......so all that hard work and learning will come up to this point tomorrow. Tryouts....I never liked the name tryout. It always seems so ugly and competitive to me. It's the "you aren't quite good enough to do this" word. I think I must have developed a negative attitude toward the word back as a child. Maybe there is a better word! I don't know..........I can't think of what a good replacement word would be for tryout. So, anyway, Jordan could use everybody's prayers tomorrow starting at 1:30 pm. She is so very excited, but said that if she doesn't make it then she would still be happy. Good attitude!
Hunter also has another archery tournament the weekend. It is indoors, so the wind shouldn't be a problem. :)
Here is a look into the past and howJordan looked as a cheerleader in elementary school! Cutie-Pie! Enjoy.

Manor 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament

Saturday was the 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament in Manor, Texas. It was extremely windy, but everyone did ok. Hunter was not pleased with his archery results, though. His score ended up being pretty low compared to the high score he had at practice on Friday. He was very disappointed. We are very proud of him for working so hard amidst the tough weather situation. The wind was actually blowing at about 30 mph in from the side of the range. It was a tough meet, but also a learning experience. Hunter learned how to compensate for the wind a lot more. He says he is really looking forward to the next meet this coming weekend--it is an indoor meet. lol

Crazy Busy!

I know being busy is not necessarily a good thing, but when you are the mom, sometimes you don't have a choice--especially if you have more than 1 child. I don't know how anybody with more than 2 kids raises them and lets them do anything extra-curricular. I know of a couple of families that have 4 kids and each kid gets to play some sort of sport. Crazy busy!! The mom in those families also doesn't work. Hmmm....
Anyway, I have been lax in posting because I have been crazy busy (my new term for life these days!). I'll let you in on what is going onaround here-at least the things that I have something to do with....whether it is driving, making, watching or actually participating.
1. Seth is taking midterms this week and I am trying to make life more simple for him so he can study and write his papers, sort of.
2. Church activities....Sunday A.M. and P.M., and Wednesday evenings
3. I am the VBS Director again this year......so I am planning VBS right now.
4. Jordan plays basketball right now....practices, many games, etc.
5. Hunter is competing in archery right now....practices and a tournament this weekend and one in a couple of weeks.
6. Jordan is trying out for cheerleader. Tryouts are next week and we have had meetings this week applying to that.
7. Housework? Supper? Grocery Shopping? Paying bills? That fits in there somewhere, I'm sure.
8. OH! I joined the gym, so I workout 5 days a week. I really need to workout and I paid extra for a month of a personal trainer's expertise, so I'm going!
9. Work for me is so busy with me out in the field all day doing appraisals before the March 31 deadline. Yikes! I am fixin' to have to start working in the evenings to get done....rrrrrrr!
10. I am also trying to find time to make a Davy Crockett costume for Hunter for his class report he is doing in a couple of weeks.
11. Hunter had an eye appointment yesterday.
Does anyone feel sorry for me, yet? I am not complaining at all. Really. I just don't have a lot of me-time to get on here and update my blog. You should see my desk in my office at work. lol
Crazy busy.......that's what I call it! God Bless you all. :)
